Adding articles from your Inventory to a To Do

Modified on Wed, 18 Oct 2023 at 11:22 AM

When you want to solve a task from the To Do tile, you may need certain resources to do so. You can add these resources from your Inventory. For example, was a task created to replace a lamp? Then add this lamp to your To Do by selecting it from your Inventory.

You can add inventory to your To Do by first going to the To Do Dashboard and clicking on the task you want to add inventory to. You will then see the following screen with details.

Next, at the top of the screen on the right, you will see a tab that says Articles. To add inventory to your task, click this tab. A new screen will open.

If articles have been added to the task before, you will see them displayed here. In this situation, no article has been added yet. To add articles, you need to click the button marked Add Article.

Then a screen opens with items you can add from your already added Inventory. You can select an item from the list here, or search for an item by using the search bar. You add an item by clicking on the plus sign (+) to the right of the item. You can add multiple articles at once.

The selected articles are added to the task and appear on the right side of the screen.

You will see that next to the added items there will now be a red cross under the text Used/Delivered. The red cross means that the item has not actually been used or delivered yet, but is reserved for use. This module is useful when you also use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) in SIMA.

When someone is in the process of performing a task and has therefore actually used this inventory, they can select the check mark next to the item. This indicates that the item has actually been used and thus is removed from your inventory. This module is useful when you also use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) module in SIMA.

Another advantage of adding items from your inventory to a To Do, in addition to regular inventory management, is that you can also invoice these items directly. You can read more about this in the section on creating an invoice from a To Do. Now when you create an invoice from this task, the inventory is added directly to it including the correct price you had given to the item in the inventory module. In addition, it could also directly creates a line per item in the invoice where you can still add the hours and extra materials for processing the task per item. If this is not applicable, just click on the cross next to the line to delete it.
